When it comes to creating unique nail art, Sophy Robson once told me that inspiration is all around which is so true. From textures and trends you see on the runway to cartoons to wallpaper patterns, you can get ideas for nail designs from anywhere and footwear is no exception.
I bought my Balenciaga high tops over a month ago but was really sure about them and was actually close to returning them but me being a magpie, I couldn’t let go of the fact it had the reflective detailing that I love so much on clothing- now I am in love with them! I’m keeping them in storage mode until summer 2014 when I can wear them in the sun with an all black outfit with the reflective detail gleaming in the summer sun… ahh I live for that season. Until then, I drew inspiration from them to create my Balenciaga manicure using white nail polish from American Apparel, Barry M Grey and a nail art brush from ebay for the cracks, Gosh Cosmetics 549 Holographic nail polish for the reflective element and my Models Own nail art pen to create the black lines which represented the tongue and laces of the shoe. Although, I don’t plan to wear these trainers until next year, they will be on my mind and on my nails until then!
